This week has been exciting and sometimes a little gross. We are continuing to read The Hot Zone as well as some supporting articles on various diseases, viruses, and bacterias. The students have had some meaningful conversations trying to understand how these viruses are passed from animal to animal, animal to human, and human to human. It is gratifying to see the students interact and embrace the classwork. It shows that the work is somehow meaningful to them.
On a happy note, two of our students have begun their careers with the Department of Education as substitute paraprofessionals. These two young women worked hard, were an asset to their classes during their training. All the best to Katia and Geleny! May you both have a long and a satisfying career. The students you will be working with are lucky to have you!
